Evenings like this make me happy to be the Bobster and have my run of Chez Bobs. Picture 1 is the perfect medium rare Rib Eye Steak with a baked potato so loaded it probably took up the 22 points I have to play with on my cholesterol, and hot rolls. an inch and a half rib eye seasoned to perfection then thrown into the coals in the fireplace. Cooked 7 minutes, then flipped on the coals and cooked another 5 minutes on the other side. Then taken off the coals and the ashes brushed off. It gives it a slight crisp coating on the outside, and a perfect medium rare on the inside. Plus you get the fun of seeing the shock and awe on the face of your guest as they think that idiot is throwing a 15 dollar steak in the fire. But then when you talk her into taking that first bite and realizing the most tender steak with the most intense hardwood flavor she ever wrapped lips around that look of shock and awe turns to respect, and even improves the trust factor. Try it. Just use my philosophy. Fill your freezer with frozen daqiris, and keep a good supply Long Island Iced Tea, and wines for all reasons and you will be prepared for anything. Just tell her the old Bobster told you to. The second picture is a steak I have ageing for the next time.
