Event notice: This is the theme for the Flames of War tournament at ConQuest Sacramento on Saturday 29 March at the Red Lion Hotel in Sacramento. 1650 point LW Normandy themed. Any Infantry only list can be utilized from Atlantik Wall, Overlord, Open Fire, Citizen Soldiers pdf, or any official Normandy pdfs that I may be missing, No fortified lists. NGFS is as described in Lessons From the Front which can be found here: flamesofwar/hobby.aspx?art_id=3840 All battles will be Red on Blue, no training missions regardless of point standings. Three rounds of 2.5 hours. Missions will be: Round 1 - 1000-1230: Seize and Hold for allied airborne and No Retreat for all others. 1230-1330 Lunch and Armies on Parade Round 2 - 1330-1600: Encounter. 1600-1630 Beer break (yeah right, the whole tournament will be a beer break). Round 3 - 1630-1900: Counter Attack. Awards shortly thereafter. The Seize and Hold Mission can be found here: flamesofwar/Portals/0/Documents/Scenarios/Seize&Hold.pdf Round one, all allied forces will automatically be the attacker. It is Normandy after all. Because the Seize and Hold mission requires ONLY airborne or air landing platoons, this eliminates certain support options. The allied airborne forces may submit a second list to represent sea landed assets that they would have at their disposal in later stages of the battle. Also, if you opt for a coup de main assault, besides Rommels asparagus you will need to bring appropriate glider templates or models. Prizes and refreshments will be provided.
