Ever feel like saying this to the many impatient, rage-filled - TopicsExpress

Ever feel like saying this to the many impatient, rage-filled drivers on the road?: Dear Fellow Drivers: My most valued possession is inside the trailer behind my truck. She stepped into that rolling box because I asked her to, and she trusts me. She is a living, breathing creature and all 1200+- pounds of her are precariously balanced on four tiny hoofs as my truck and trailer wind down this road. My horse is not a boat or a camper trailer, and I cannot stop quickly or turn sharply without risking her balance and safety and even her life. Please know that I will do just about anything to avoid hitting my brakes suddenly, with a horse in my trailer. When I make wide turns, I need them to prevent my horse from scrambling. Please give me room and time to turn slowly. And that large distance between me and the car in front of me- It might look like enough room to fit three sedans bumper to bumper, but it is actually the distance I need to stop softly and safely, without my horse falling. Those times when we are headed up a hill, my speed is as fast as I can go. My foot has the accelerator pushed to the floor, and no matter how hard you try, your Honda can’t push us up this hill. I promise that I will move to the right lane when it becomes available or I will pull over to a safe spot on the shoulder, but until then I ask for your patience and some space. Lastly, my rig weighs 3+- tons, and that much weight prevents me from swerving then you pass me going 80mph uphill, on a blind corner. You are not just putting my horse at risk, but this risky driving threatens the lives of the oncoming driver, my passenger, me and everyone sharing the road with us. So please, next time you see a truck and horse trailer, assume a loved animal is in there. Please give us some space and offer some patience. By driving safely, we will all get where we are going. Thank you from your horse loving, road sharing, friends (shared from our friends at Blue Ridge Trailers)
