Ever feel like the heavy weight of stress will never be lifted? I understand. Ive been there. And in those moments, its usually the worst of me that emerges. But Ive realized only God can breathe a little unbuttoned grace into our ever tightening frustrations. Gently, tenderly, without accusation, God’s truth reaches the places inside us worn raw. “… he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation- if you continue in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope held out in the gospel,” Colossians 1:22-23. These are soothing words… Reconciled me. Present me holy. Without blemish. Free from accusation. Continue in my faith. Established. Firm. Not moved from the hope. Breaking the Scripture apart this way causes my eyes to stop, my heart to ponder, and my soul to linger in truth just a little longer.
