Ever felt rejected? Have you been abandoned or mistreated? - TopicsExpress

Ever felt rejected? Have you been abandoned or mistreated? Rejection from loved ones is definitely a grief issue...and hard to go through. Especially if you did nothing wrong to warrant it. With grief, it is very common for many of your relationships to change. Some family and friends, who you previously thought you could depend on, scatter and avoid you...while other family members and friends, who you were not very close to, end up being there for you through your toughest days. After grief, try not to be hurt or offended at relationships that weaken or may even be lost throughout your grief process. When it comes to friendships, the downside to grief is if a friend has never experienced grief or loss, it can be difficult to relate to each other in the way you once did pre-grief. The upside to grief is if someone has been through grief or loss, those friendships awaken and truly deepen..there is almost an unspoken understanding where they are able to relate to how you now think or feel in a very genuine way. Friendships can definitely change post-grief and sometimes God will allow some friendships to wither away so that new friendships can bloom. Ask God to bring good solid friendships to you throughout your grief journey. Today, maybe your struggle is not with friendships, but with a relationship that is the original source of your grief...What about abandonment as a child, or after marriage? I know of many who were abandoned by their father or mother. I also know many who have been left and abandoned by their spouses or other family members. It is always difficult to understand how people you love, and who were supposed to love you, could reject or hurt you so terribly. And there are no easy answers. I believe that sometimes, God will allow (not cause, but allow) rejection or abandonment to take place to PROTECT you from relationships and situations that could cause you future harm. I think once we get to Heaven, we will clearly see some situations of rejection or abandonment were Gods gifts of mercy in our lives....blessings in disguise. I believe it truly breaks Gods heart to allow these situations to take place, but He could see that something worse was going to happen. So in His great love, He allowed them to reject or leave as an act of protection. Also, some relationships only have a purpose for a season....they are in place to teach you the lessons you need for a specific time in your life. One thing is for certain: God will never reject you. To reject one of His children would be to turn His back on Himself. People may deeply hurt us but God never will. God cares so much about protecting our hearts that He actually gives angels orders of how best to protect us. This divine order also includes protecting us in relationships. When people reject or mistreat you, God feels your heartache. His love is big enough to cover ANY and ALL hurts when you go to Him. God loves you and He is absolutely crazy about you! He is not to blame for the tough issues of rejection or abandonment. He cares about the atrocities and hurts you have experienced in life. No matter who has hurt, rejected, mistreated, or abandoned you, know this: God will NEVER leave you or forsake you. Please rest in this very special promise today.
