Ever hear of a fish getting hit by a car? I imagine it happens. I imagine its rare. It happened yesterday. On my way to work I had to slow down to avoid colliding with an eagle, or possibly it was a large hawk, who swooped down to grab a fish he apparently dropped. Driving S on US 1, suddenly this very large white headed bird appears in front of my car, grabs something out of the air and heads back up. I couldnt tell what it was at first but on his way back up, it wriggled free and he dropped it once more, this time in the northbound lanes. I was staring at the thing and could tell it was a fish, curled up and flopping around in the far left lane. I felt sorry for both fish and bird because the bird lost its prey and the fish got squashed by traffic. What a way to go.
