Ever heard of Ujjai Pranayama? Its a technique used during yoga asana practice (yoga poses in sequence) where you focus your breath which comes in and out of the nose, on the center of the throat. Imagine a diamond in your throat. As you breathe in, feel it expand. As you breathe out, feel it contract. There should be an audible sound coming from your throat which may take practice to get used to. This is also called Victorious Breath or Ocean Breath. It helps remove toxins from the lymphatic system, releases anxiety, and tones the nervous system. This breath should flow with the yoga poses as you breathe in you rise, extend, expand, and as you breathe out, you lower, close in, or go down. This not only helps you overcome and ease into difficult yoga poses, but also brings and keeps the Prana (life force) in your body.
