Ever since I first met Jonathan Evison (elementary school - 4th or 5th grade?), he wanted to be a writer... Hes the first to admit that he had to do other jobs along the way, but he never quit writing. He has worked hard and is a phenomenal writer - his own unique character is reflected in the off-beat humor and engaging, quirky characters of his award-winning and best-selling novels. I recommend his books to anyone who asks for suggestions. Whenever I see anyone reading one, I immediately strike up a conversation, talking about the book and sharing memories of Jon. This has nothing to do with name-dropping; it is really my pride in having once known a giddy, great guy who never let go of his dream and turned hard work into gold. His novels stand on their own, but I offer up three other facts that I see as measures of Jons success: 1) Presidential candidate Ron Paul imitated/copied a roguish picture of Evison during his 2008 campaign 2) I have seen pictures of the POTUS (thats THE Prez folks) reading one of his books 3) One of his books (Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving) is being turned into a movie starring Paul Rudd Fan-freaking-tastic Mr. Evison! #jonathanevison #monkeyseekerlives
