Ever since the first trailer of Aapne To Dhirubhai came out, this upcoming Dhollywood flick has generated a strong buzz on the social media and movie buffs in Gujarat are eagerly waiting for August 29 when the film will hit the screens.The inspiring journey of Dhirubhai Ambani has inspired not just Gujaratis, but people all over the country and this interesting title has only added to the curiosity level. Speaking about the film, producer Mayursinh Jadeja says, “I can say from experience that audiences in Gujarat have a soft corner for comedies, and a well made comedy can never go wrong here.Aapne To Dhirubhai is an out-and-out comedy and we are confident about the films success. It is the story of a collegian who wants to be as rich as Dhirubhai Ambani and imitates him in almost everything. So, he tries his hands at numerous business ventures and commits blunders every time, leading to some hilarious situations. It is a very urban film and I feel that audiences belonging to every age group will easily identify with our protagonist. It is going to be a laugh riot but the movie will also have an impor tant message for the audience. You cannot become a great person like Dhirubhai simply by imitating him.“ Apart from this extremely interesting storyline about a young mans ordeal while trying to earn quick bucks, the film also boasts of a powerful star cast. Actor Vrajesh Hirjee of Golmaal series fame, who has already proved his mettle as an actor in numerous Bollywood films, will be seen in this film and this happens to be his second Dhollywood outing. The actor enjoys a great fanfollowing in Gujarat and his presence is likely to be a big factor in attracting audiences. The film, with screenplay by Haritrushi Purohit (he is also the director) and Sunil Makwana, also has well known TV actress Jayaka Yagnik, Bhakti Rathod, Ritesh Mobh, Ashish Bhatt, Morli Patel and Jayesh More. The film, which was shot in a single schedule in different exotic locations of Rajkot, is a smart situational comedy and promises to be very different from the run-of-the-mill slapstick comedies. The music of the film is also climbing up the popularity charts, and the makers are optimistic about its box office prospects. Says Jadeja, “The story is extremely relevant to todays youngsters and they will connect with the characters instantly. Also, there are no cheap jokes to grab eyeballs. We have worked very hard to promote the film innovatively and I doubt if any Gujarati film before this has worked so hard on its promos.
