Ever walk through a rose bush? Here is the truth of what it is like. It is terribly painful so your focus becomes the rose. I have posted wonderful memories I have recently been able to make with my mother but it has come time to look at the thorns. My mother was in surgery for 8 hours as an aggressive tumor was removed from the armpit, arm and chest cavity area. Some of the tumor was left because it is eating through a major blood Vein. She has two drains coming out of her side that have to bled every four hours. She cannot use her arm at all because they had to remove most of an entire muscle. She even requires assistance in the shower. Chemo therapy and radiation are on the horizon. These are the thorns. However I have choosen to focus on the flower. This is not a journey I want to take but I will smell the roses along the way. Please rejoice with me for the time we have to live, laugh and love as mother and daughter together.
