Ever wanted to be an extra in a movie? Now is your chance, [if you are CT based] As you must know Out In Africa has National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund (NLDTF) funding to make a feature film, which now has a name - While you werent looking - and we will be shooting in and around Cape Town throughout August. We have made an appeal to our community for assistance - to help us stretch our budget and, as important, to afford us the real thing, local gays and lesbians providing that important fabric of extras in certain scenes in the film. Many of you responded to the call made throughout the last Festival in May, we just need to get a few more of you signed up. However, we must make you aware that: Filmmaking is not all fun... A filming day is 12 hours long, and were asking some of you to give us as many as 11 hours of a day in your life. Keep those hours in mind - for If you volunteer you must stay the duration. Youll have to hang out - for there will be periods of inactivity as the crew set up, and then you may do the same thing again and again. You cannot wander off for if we have shot you, we need you for the reverse, the cut-away, and if youre not there we lose continuity... So, please consider carefully before you agree to help us. We cannot pay you and we want you in your own clothes, but we will feed you so very well and, if you so choose, well put your name up in lights. And, its just to say that filmmaking is a lot of fun, and this project is so very special, and we have been overwhelmed by the generosity shown to us by everyone.
