Ever wonder how I make those little medallions with company logos, symbols, or what ever you want on them? These, as well as many other complex designs, are not made by hand, as they would be imprecise and often times impossible. Now dont misunderstand anything; just about all of my work is done by hand. In fact, some techniques will never be able to be reproduced by a 3D printer, such as Levant Jewellerys signature Damascus jewellery. However, if the Tim Hortons company, for example, were to come knocking at my door, asking me to make a pin with their company logo on it, this is something that I would use CAD software and a 3D printer for. Indeed, technology is incredible, and as time goes by, the previously unimaginable will be as simple as ordering a cup of coffee. But... we have a long way to go before things are THAT easy.
