Ever wonder if cold vs warm rounds makes a difference in accuracy? - TopicsExpress

Ever wonder if cold vs warm rounds makes a difference in accuracy? Ive heard the rumor but never put any thought into it till I came across some results by fluke today. Since getting my Remy 700 VTR .223 all dressed up with a new stock, trigger and scope I picked up a few different boxes of .55g bullets and hit the range to see what it flung best. After getting it on paper with the Hornady .55g SP and in a crappy group I was happy with for testing with the bullets being at a cold -20 I went to work. The first up were the V-Max which I shot cold. After the group I needed to warm up so I stuffed the 5 Varmageddon in my hand in my pocket and went too the wood stove for a bit. After noticing the difference I remembered the rumor and did the rest warm, then went back too the initial sight in rounds and the first group done cold and did them warm. The V-Max seemed to group a bit tighter and the SP seemed to tighten up a fair amount compared the shotgun pattern it gave me before. So there you go, in case some might he wondering lol
