Ever wonder what Roy does during pregame?? Before Tuesdays game, Roy came across GoHeels contributor Adam Lucas and the coach told him the bigger story that night was going to be bigger than the game itself. Zach Hunter, an eighth-grader from Wilson, lost his 19-year-old sister Emilee in an auto accident a few weeks ago. On the day of her burial, he had a game for Wilson Christian Academy against Friendship Christian out of Raleigh. Her boyfriend inspired Zach to play for her honor and score 30 points, which he would do. The story would go viral, and it would even get members of the Carolina team to get involved in the #DoIt4Em campaign. Zach and his family attended the game and were about to take their seats, but before that would happened, a member of the staff escorted Zach to meet with Coach Williams on the bench and the two would share a candid conversation. Roy then gave him and his family a huge surprise when he noticed their seats were up near the rafters. He went ahead and invited the entire family to sit directly behind the bench for the duration of the game.
