Ever wonder why you lose tone when you roll back the volume and when you roll back the tone it gets muggy fast. Here is a simple mod you can use on your Tele or any other guitar, it doesnt matter 250k or 500k pots or pickups keep what you got. The solution is take a 100K (5%)resistor and a .003uf capacitor: Wire them parallel across the input and output of the volume pot. Then do the same with the tone control. You will notice a lot of difference, when you roll back the volume the tone changes a lot less drastically. The tone when rolled back to say 7 starts to lose the bright but the midrange is more dominant. Ive been using this on all my guitars since back in the 80s.
