This cool satellite video shows: The tremendous force associated with the rising air inside a thunderstorm creating the overshooting tops, which look like bubbles churning up and down on the surface of a pot of boiling water. You can also see the rippling effects (called gravity waves) that spread out from the center of the thunderstorm to all directions.
