Every December 31st I write something like this because I dont - TopicsExpress

Every December 31st I write something like this because I dont like reading or hearing about people dying on New Years. If you go out tonight, please be safe. If you plan on drinking have a designated driver. Sometimes you need a designated driver for the designated driver. Have a back up plan always. Call a cab for a ride home, there are lots of cab companies and services that offer free rides home. Tell your family and people you trust where you are going. Every New Years we lose the ones we love. Remember that the drunk driver is not always the ones killed in an accident. Its the innocent people who are the victims! I would rather wake up at 2 am and drive to come get you rather than having you take the chance of driving drunk. If you drink and drive you will either kill yourself, someone else or even spend the rest of your life behind bars. The problem is that most people do drink and drive and yes they even make it back safe. Therefore their confidence is clouded thinking they will always be fine. All it takes is one mistake and its over. If you have children, think about what life would be for them without you in their lives. Some states have a zero tolerance law and I agree with it, there is no reason to drink and drive. If you are out at a party and the situation makes you uncomfortable then leave and go somewhere else. Many times we hear about people acting crazy at parties and either someone is raped, shot or even killed. I know some people will blow this off and do their own thing and thats fine. Some may say why even write this? Well Ive worked many nights pulling drunk people off the road. I may have ruined their career and put them in a financial burden (Yes, getting a DUI will cost you a lot of money) but their life and the lives of others are safe. The point Im trying to make is for you to just be responsible. Always remember that your life is more important than anything in this world. Go out, have fun, celebrate and come home safe. Share if you agree. Larry Williams
