Every Mothers Day I find myself thinking of all the beautiful ladies I met in fertility clinic waiting rooms all those years ago. Many of these women will never carry or give birth to a child, many of them will not become Mothers. These are women who desperately want a baby of their own. Who have invested so much of their physical and emotional energy, their time, their money, their hopes and their dreams and may not ever achieve the outcome they desire. These are women who know a level of loneliness and wanting that few of us can begin to imagine. So while I give thanks for my amazing mum, my delightful children, and the many women who have blessed and influenced my world, I also think of these ladies. I am sorry for what they have endured and I wish them contentment and happiness.
