Every New Years Eve I make this long facebook post about the past - TopicsExpress

Every New Years Eve I make this long facebook post about the past year and what Ive gained/lost/learned and what I look forward to in the upcoming year. This year is no different - so in 2014, I started the year by becoming engaged (after 5 years of dating) and closed out the year by finally graduating college and earning my bachelors degree! It only took me 2.5 years to finish, but it took me 20+ years to start. Im not done with school just yet, but thats only because I amazed myself along my journey and realized that I needed to keep going. There was a lot going on between those two monumental events as well. I got a new car, I took several trips, I left a job to search for a new one and I fought a few personal battles. I lost a few friends, gained some even better ones, strengthened some relationships that were already pretty strong to begin with and found resolution and forgiveness for some others. I have said many times that Im not perfect, and Im definitely not! I react harshly on occasion, I dont always think before I speak, I resent decisions that have absolutely nothing to do with me and I tend to jump in without looking ahead. However, Im more than content with my life! I have amazing people to share it with, I find strength in my struggles and I have a lot to look forward to. The upcoming year will bring grad school, graduation for each of my sons (one from high school and the other from college) and a new marriage (complete with a dream destination wedding). I couldnt be any more proud of my children and for the first time ever, Im comfortable saying that I am proud of myself. Not because Im boastful but because Ive earned it. To all my friends and family, thank you for being part of my year and part of my life! Im truly grateful for the gracious hearts of those I love. I may not get to talk to some of my friends as often as Id like but that doesnt mean theyre any less special, it just means the times that I do are even more special. My goal in 2015 is to remain as happy as I am now. Live - to the fullest! Laugh -at yourself and your situations! Love - with every thing you have! There truly is no room for negativity and absolutely nothing wrong with removing as much of it as you can from your life.
