Every believer has prophetic promises from heaven whether God has revealed something that we would accomplish for Him, something that we would become, or something that we would see Him do in our lifetime. Prophetic words are authoritative words that Scripture says we would do well to pay attention to. God is not the God of the dead, but He is the God of the living. He still moves in the earth today, seeking and saving those who are lost and without hope. He still speaks to His people today by His Spirit. He still speaks to us through prophetic voices that He Himself is raising up in the earth today. God has more in store for those who are seeking Him with their whole hearts, minds, and souls. That is the power of prophecy! 2 Peter 1:19-21New King James Version (NKJV) 19 And so we have the prophetic word confirmed,[a] which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; 20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation,[b] 21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God[c] spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
