Every breeders dream is to find a caring home full of love, respect and warmth for his/her newly born puppy. Home, where the puppy will grow up, make his owner happy and also where the dog will grow old and find a peace in the last days of its life. No matter its success at the dogshow. So far every single dog which was born in my house has a wonderful owner, who is staying in touch with me, sends me messages about the dog, its pictures and tells me about its success. And Im really thankful for that. Unfortunately Hermiona (from Hermiona Klan Sycylijczykow) wasnt as lucky as the other dogs. Let me quote Hermionas former owners words from her website the day she took Hermiona home: For many years I remembered my best Christmas present what was fish tank I´v got being 6 years old. This year on the eve of Christmas Eve I´v brought to our house live big-eared present Hermiona Klan Sycylijczykow. Past years I´v yearned for daughter or grandduaghter of my Goldie - Nhabira Bohemia and the same time I wanted offspring of handsome Nhabira Home Run. Hermiona combines both of my wishes. I felt into love to her since 1st picture after birth what I´v seen. That never happened to me before. Dear Bozena thank you for HER! I was sure that Hermiona will have a happy life... her mother ( Bibi) comes from Hermionas owner house (now shes staying with me). The day she left my house, Hermiona was a healthy and jolly puppy... after 2 weeks I received a message which accused me of being a bad breeder because Hermiona didnt want to eat and that was my fault and now her new owner will have to pay money to vets so the dog will start eat normally. Its nothing new that a puppy doesnt want to eat after being brought to a new house. My Bibi hadnt wanted to eat until I gave her a new dog food. Shes 8 years old and shes still a beautfiul and strong female. When Hermiona was 8 month she became /Puppy World Winner,/ at the World Dog Show in 2013. Her owner was very proud. Hermiona took part in other dog shows, but she didnt success and her owner wasnt proud anymore. And then I stopped receiveing any messages about Hermiona. After 2 years I received an e-mail from Hermionas owner that for private reasons she has to find a new home for Hermiona. So I decided to help her. I asked for Hermionas actual photo, but her owner told me that she doesnt have one. She sent me an old piture. Now I know, why she didnt sent me the actual photo- probably Hermiona was already looking really bad then. After 3-4 days I found a new home for the dog and I was ready to come to Czech Republic and pick Hermiona up. I wrote to Hermionas owner but she changed her mind and she refused to give Hermiona back. She told me that (shes) not ready to give the dog back and if the people who want to take her dont want to wait then they arent good enough to have her. And again I lost contact with her. After 7 months I received another e-mail and again I decided to help. I couldnt go to take Hermionas back from Czech Republic so I asked my dearest friends to do that. October 26th, 2014 – My friends see Hermiona for the first time. They were in shock. That something what supposed to be a basset didnt look like one. It only had bassets long ears. Hermiona was dirty, smelly, awfully famished and bony. The owner didnt even take a bottle of water for her and so she was hungry for almost 24 hours. The owner didnt tell us anything about feeding Hermiona. Instead, without saying goodbye she return to watch EDS finals. When Hermiona came to Poland she was immediately taken to vet. Results- rib distortion as a result of not being feed at the time of the most intensive grownth. The 3 yrs old dog weighted only 19 kg !!!! Her onwer sent me picture once when Hermiona had 22 weeks- she weighted 18, 700.. no difference after so many years. I wrote to Hermionas ex-owner. I asked why she treated Hermiona that way, why she looks like that, why shes so thin? But I never received answer back. The dogs in a dog shelter look better than Hermiona then. Hermiona found a new loving home. She keeps her new owners company all the time. She gained more than 2 kg after 4 weeks and soon shell look like a proper basset should looks like. I understand that sometimes people have problems and things arent what we want them to be. I used to have problems too.. but I knew that if Im an owner of a dogs I have to take care of them no matter what. First things first. Dog is not a toy. The fundamental duty of a dogs keeper is to give him a proper shelter and conditions for a living. Theres no way to justify animal starvation.. its a bestiality! I hope that no one can sell the dog to the woman. Regardless of whether it is a basset or other race. Id like to thank Izabela Całus, Aneta Cisowska, Karina Kruczek and Beata Liboska with her family for your help and love you gave to Hermiona. Ill never forget that. Here are the stages of Hermionas development when she was with me, when she won the WWW Puppy and when she came back to Poland.
