Every day we see nightmares and we want to help! This is the most recent. Sadly, it’s not just a nightmare, it is reality. Luck is a 3-4 year old, purebred cocker spaniel. He was found running loose and dragging a chain and rope behind him. He was filthy and horribly matted; some of the worst mats we have ever seen. The mats were so bad that they had caused open sores on his skin..and the smell…we won’t go into detail but the smell was just unbearable. He had clearly been living in deplorable conditions. The groomer cut 8 lbs. of nasty, smelly, painful mats of this dog’s frail body. To top it off, we just found out he is heartworm positive. That doesn’t surprise us though. Does this look like a dog whose owner cared enough to provide monthly heartworm preventative? This poor baby has suffered years of horrible neglect. He has probably lived outside on a chain his entire existence on this earth. Dogs don’t get matted like this overnight. It takes time. Thank the Lord that he broke free from his chain because he overcame the odds when he was discovered by a Good Samaritan who was familiar with Angels Among Us Pet Rescue. She contacted us for help.
