Every developed nation in the world Except ours Instead weve been privatizing ours with things like Ohio Health and the Mount Carmel health system for the last 3 decades. If this nation isnt going to provide a national healthcare plan we need to stop selling off the healthcare infrastructure. City and county hospitals and community clinics kept the prices down because when we set the prices, the insurance companies werent getting gouged and it kept our premiums lower. We either need a national healthcare plan or we need to start producing new publiic healthcare infrastructure with no profit motive behind it to give the people a seat at the table in the cost conversation. Personally in the long run I think it would be better to own the infrastructure and stay outta the health insurance market.
