Every endeavor, every movement, every ordeal can be a meditative - TopicsExpress

Every endeavor, every movement, every ordeal can be a meditative exercise. Much like yoga or tai chi developed centuries ago to cultivate mental, emotional and physical abilities, we can use physical activities to teach mindfulness and practice being present. The principles are not unique to martial arts or yoga poses. Those were only the means used in the past. We can take those lessons and apply it to any aspect of life; being present, noticing without attaching, attention without judgement, intention while still being receptive. We can expand these principles beyond one type of endeavor and try to explore our mental, emotional and physical abilities through new challenges that are structured and unstructured, planned and unplanned so that we have an array of experiences that reinforce the lessons and are not limited by one way of participating.
