Every human situation that degenerates into dystopian or asphyxiating opprobrium needs a leader who is inspirational and didactic. He must have capacity for introspection as to what needs to be done to snap out of an untoward state of affairs! It is trite fact that an ontological relationship does exist between capacity for profound thinking and ability to act right. Inspite of the present state of squalor, many a man believes that a justificatory basis does exist for a jubilee. Whereas we have seen men who ravish in position of authority which they occupy without asking a corresponding question as to the responsibilities that flow thereof as a natural corollary! Incrementally leadership has come to acquire a warped meaning! Leadership was supposed to aid in the extrication of the ululating mass of the people from the uncertainties of the horrors of impecuniosity to a life of clover! Those who had tasted the vinegar of persecution and denigration during the colonial era had just a wish, it was that those who come after them will never again be made to undertake ever again a peregrination into mortification! Unfortunately, those who have led us so far have failed, neglected or refused to squeeze themselves empty of gluttony and fill themselves with the spirit of altruistic service to the motherland that they are privileged to lead! They failed to be the very crystallization of truth and justice! Inexplicable opportunism and parasitic ambitions have held them hostage. They are consequently intimidatingly raffish! They and those who are hogs and fugitives from the truth are in a league to pulverize the nation they lead. Even as the people are crushed, by drudgery, poverty and forlornness, the leaders and their lackeys say it is jubilee! Our leaders perhaps need to come into the recognition of the trinity of their role in the intricate, but intriguing celestial drama that is life.They need to align themselves, physically and spiritually, to the purpose and destiny of leadership! A leader ought to be of enduring utility. For those who find delight in falsehood, let them know that it may bring some gains, but the primacy and uniqueness of truth derive from the fact that it is enduring and life invigorating! After the 2007 election as the President of the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria then I took a page in a national daily to condemn the fraud that was the election which Obj had described as a do or die affair. There was no election! Baga Iyabo with impunity intimidated all into submission! A number of Muslim elders deemed me bodacious and rude. They rushed to pay a solidarity visit and saturated God to endorse the fraud. When I met with Yards Adua and was being introduced to him he betrayed bewilderment that this was the fellow who called my election a fraud! The irony about us is that we are inclined to war those who find the intrepidity to tell us the truth! Even when he would during his swearing in ceremony admit that the election was problematic, he was not going to be fun meeting one who dared to call the election its true name; fraud! The sycophants told him you won. They aided him to raise a mountain of documents to prove his case in court! But when it was time to go, he left! The final account to which God is not indifferent, will come, him by himself alone will explain what he did with the power he got . Whether it was a fraud! Those scheming now will give accounts to God whom neither the Mbus nor DSS can intimidate! Until then let those have seen political office as a do or die affair, know that at the end of the day one will only be remembered for what was done and not how long one was there! All men someday shall become ex!
