Every leader should read this article. Its directed towards the officer ranks, but a lot of NCOs could really benefit from thinking outside the box. My very first squad leader instilled this in me when I was a private. Pick up a book, read it for the knowledge and then try it out. Met plenty of NCOs in my short time that can quote a regulation but couldnt tell you about a battle that changed the course of a war.
