Every morn, I awaken to a quiet dark cottage...The wood stove barely ticking, and a small flame barely flickering! I first venture into the kitchen and start my coffee,then I step out side and split some kindling off with my trusty ax...I think its funny that I can do this in a nightgown barefoot on the cold concrete porch...My teens whom are asleep in the room near me seem to know its me again and do not complain as they toss a little bit about with my swift cracking of the ax.Then I come into their quarters and build the fire up again to warm the morning for the days start.This stove is the only heat in the house.I sometimes turn the kitchen stove on to help a bit.Then me my fresh hot coffee and I sit and read your posts and various articles until the first hint of light at which time I then make breakfast or shuttle them off to school...This morning I am so excited to be baking with Sophia and Vinnie and Ben! Then I will bring in their art supplies till its warm for them to join me outside for some adventure,,,,I hope it is warm today...
