Every morning I open my emails at work to lil Qoutes, Phrases or Just inspirational personal storys from a Great Co-worker. I wanted to share todays! Ahhh…. It’s almost time again… we moved the clocks ahead an hour. Unless you forgot and overslept…. That means that spring break is not too far off. After spring break, is summer. Which usually means vacation. Specially for the young-‘uns. Sometimes, they’ll let us parents go with them… if we behave, and don’t embarrass them too much…hehehe…. But we do a lot of planning. Where to go, and what to see. Might be DisneyLand. Hawaii(yep-that’s me….). could be the Cayman Islands. The French Riviera. Deer Creek. No matter where you go , you almost always find a rack of post cards. With some pictures of where you’re at . the caption is usually…’Wish you were here!’ More often than not, it’s a ‘snub’ , if you will. A comment that is directed to the intended recipient. As if to say, ‘Neener, neener, neener.. I’m here, and you’re not..’ A feeble attempt to rub it in. Although, once in a while, we really do wish that our loved ones were with us. Enjoying the sights. Sounds. Music. Food. All the amenities that the place we are at, has to offer. Wish you were here…. Every day , we get postcards. They may not look exactly like postcards, but they are notes sent to us. Telling us ‘Wish you were here!’ The postcards are from God, sent directly from heaven. A sunrise. A sunset. A smile. A hug. ‘niller ice cream. Grandkids laughing. A pat on the back. Family dinners. A hand to hold. The smell of Marla’s lasagna. The list is limitless. Because God wishes us to be there. In heaven . That’s His will. For us to be together. Forever. Enjoying it all, because He has it already planned for us. The best of everything. Since He gave us each our own free will, we can plan ahead. To me, the phrase ‘spring break’, carries the same attitude as ‘winter holiday’. You don’t seem to hear much about Lent. Palm Sunday. Or Easter. Good Friday. Just think about it, will ya? God sends His Son, to personally deliver a ‘postcard’ to His kids. To let us know that the banquet is ready. But He doesn’t stop there. NO…… He sends Jesus to cancel our reservations in hell. Personally. Wow… hard to imagine… kinda like a ‘Wish you weren’t here…. ‘ kind of message. That had to be one busy weekend…. And the anniversary of that weekend is just around the corner…. With that being said, do me a favor… This Easter, take a moment, and consider the ‘postcards’ in your life. I will never completely understand the enormity of His passion. For me. for you. For all of us.. but I do know this… He wishes for each of us to be there….Yes, it’s always a good time to make your reservations, right now…. So why wait ? No long lines. No waiting. No getting ‘bumped’ to a later flight. No cancellations due to inclement weather. Only one trip-tik. He will even send you a confirmation via ‘knee-mail.’ You know the smile you get when a favorite relative shows up? Just imagine the look on God’s face when we show up… What a party….. because He sent His postcard….. Wish you were here! Roger Jeffers Tech Support
