Every now and again you are invited to a wedding that is so amazing you know you will never be able to forget it. The wedding of Garyella the bride, better known as Chassis and Pete the groom, better known as Axel on the night of Wednesday, 13 October 2013 was certainly one that the guests will remember for a long, long time. The bride looked amazing in her maxi wedding dress which almost completely hid her rather large baby bump. Unfortunately she was unable to wear shoes to the ceremony as her feet were far too swollen. The groom also looked very dapper but both were overshadowed by the gorgeous pageboy, Kobi Cattanach who completely stole the show. The wedding was held at the Coolum RSL and was hosted by the Coolum Toastmasters Club. Although the grooms parents were unable to attend, as they are currently traipsing through the wilds of Bolivia , the bride and groom were well supported by members of the Sunshine Coast, Noosa, Cooroy, Coolum, Maroochydore and Nambour Toastmasters clubs as well as members of the Coolum RSL. Throughout the speeches, it became obvious that Chassis and Axel were meant to be together. The pair have both been married before and Axel expressed his great desire to be a wonderful stepfather to Garyellas eight children and father to the precariously balanced new baby that threatened, several times during the night to bring an abrupt halt to the wedding. The ceremony began with light hearted speeches by each of the guests explaining how they came to be at the wedding. These were followed by heartfelt and hilarious speeches delivered by the MC, the celebrant, the Bride and Groom, the Brides parents and the Bridesmaid. After a delicious wedding breakfast and the cutting of the rather opulent wedding cake, it was time to hear from some of the guests. Six rather surprised guests found themselves presenting short speeches on their relationships to either the Bride or the Groom. The evening finished with a poignant speech from Michelle from the Coolum Club advising Pete how to deal with his bride if he wanted his home to be filled with harmony for a few weeks at least. The couple will be spending their honeymoon in the maternity suite at the Nambour General Hospital. The wedding was the brainchild of Coolum Toastmasters President, Linda Morrell and Vivien Collins. It was heralded a great success as it bought all Area 16 Toastmasters Clubs together for an evening of fun, frivolity and great speech making.
