Every now and then I play this pretend game with my friends, pitching ideas for film and television shows. An early conception by friends was the Williamsburg soap opera on those early years of the gentrification, when figurative gaseous giants fused internally and became luminescent. Later, Ex-Static Press conceived Hamster of Williamsburg, about a Hasid hipster and his Puerto Rican business partner, running a used electronics shop on Wythe and Broadway. We actually wrote episode synopses before we were sabotaged internally. My latest pitch is for a new X-Files. Mulder and Scully are still retired and still contentious with the FBI and government. The X-Files have been handed over to two new agents and remain connected to the mysterious business cabal that appeared repeatedly in the black oil conspiracy. The mysterious business cabal has new, younger members, one of them Peter Weyland [from Prometheus]. And the alien human-hybrid in development over the 9 seasons of the previous X-Files is revealed to be a prototype of the xenomorph of Alien.
