Every now and then my number comes up. Heres a recap in chronological order of the worst food poisoning experiences in my life: -Age 12 - Cockles in Pattaya. I had to learn sometime that the juice in the shell is the cockle bleeding out when you cook it. To this day, the only food I refuse. The first time in my life I slept in the bathroom, but not the last. -Age 18 - A night out in Hong Kong. I came back to the US and the doctors thought I had some form of Hepatitis. (I dont.) -Age 23 - Olives in Jordan during Ramadan. If youre in the desert and it looks like its been sitting out for a while, dont eat it. -Age 27 - Oysters in Gaggan, a molecular Indian restaurant in Bangkok. Oysters, Indian, molecular...a bad combination of phrases. -This past Monday - my regular Monday routine. Something got me and took me out for the week. Caitlin dodged the bullet!
