Every riding lesson ever given, when the instructor doesn`t really - TopicsExpress

Every riding lesson ever given, when the instructor doesn`t really know the rider, should include a lecture on what we can and cannot expect a horse to do, based upon the quality of the preparation the horse has received to do the job we are asking. Like the Pony Club kid in California piped up, when I was trying to explain this----I get it! A horse is like a coke machine! What do you mean?, says I. You can`t get the coke OUT til you put the fifty cents IN. Riding teachers worth their salt (whatever that means) have a much broader obligation than just teaching riding skills.
