Every so often Facebook reminds me why I post so little and share - TopicsExpress

Every so often Facebook reminds me why I post so little and share even less. If Facebook had its way, it would share all user information with the entire Facebook network, its advertisers and subsidiary companies. Because yes, when Mark Zuckerberg has wet dreams, they are about squeezing the shit out of user privacy and personal preferences. If there is any humanity left in this entangled web of baby pictures and holiday-announcement-statuses, perhaps Zuckerberg can understand that sometimes we dont want co-workers or bosses to see our weekend antics. Is that so much to ask that no one relives the moment when I obnoxiously put my crotch in the face of a guy who passed out? NO, that is not a lame request for privacy!!! And yes that is a true story. My anger and frustration boils down to this. As I was browsing a friends wall this morning I moused over the gear icon by the picture they posted. I clicked it. In an instant I was given a list of people who were also privy to seeing the picture and by default, people who were EXCLUDED from the post were made known to me since I share many mutual friends with OP (original poster). In short, I now have the knowledge that OP is being selective in who they share what with. Scrolling down the wall reveals they are very selective indeed. But seriously, I dont need to know this shit nor do you. I would plead that this type of sharing, which I suspect is the type of synonym Facebook would use, is uncalled for. Sharing implies the active engagement of handing out something to others. Revealing that only hand-picked candidates have exclusive viewing rights to a post is contrary to that purpose. Whatever reasons OP and anyone else has for blocking a group of people from seeing something is VALID. It is not for Facebook to expose my or your social media actions. Privacy is a right, even on THE Facebook, goddamn it. Edit: awkward word placement
