Every so often I have an issue that “rides” my mind. I usually have a cut and dried opinion on most issues (right or wrong it’s what I believe). Then there are issues I fight myself over. The last couple days I’ve seen postings of FB about minimum wage. There has been talk of the minimum wage being raised significantly over the last few years. Being involved in small business all my life I know how devastating it is to pay employees and all there benefits. Raising the minimum wage would cripple a great deal of small business. I realize big corporations Tim Hortons, Wal-Mart and McDonald are a few examples of taking advantage of minimum wage workers. Anyone have any thoughts on how we can handle this issue? My suggestion is that the Government would supplement small businesses that grossed less than a certain amount when those businesses employed minimum wage employees. All Canadians deserve to make a living.
