Every so often, Ill come up with a fictional storyline as the basis of lyrics for a song. Basically, Ill create a short story - and then write the lyrics based on that story. Such was the case with Gravitate from the newest album. I dreamed up a story about a man who had moved into an old Victorian house, and after living there for a short time, begins seeing the apparition of a beautiful woman in the mirrors and the windows of the house. Every so often, hell even see her floating through the upstairs corridors - and she seems to grow lovelier every time he glimpses her. As her manifestations become more and more frequent, it seems as though shes trying to tell him something - but what? He becomes obsessed with unraveling the mystery of the ghost in his home, and in the process falls in love with the beautiful face that haunts him. In chasing her down the proverbial rabbit hole, he descends into a kind of madness. That is the tale behind the lyrics of Gravitate. :)
