Every subsidy, every tax loophole, every act of deregulation, every exemption corporations are given is rationalized by their mantra that they: • create jobs and • must be given special privileges in order to compete. The same excuse is made for paying shit wages. And yet the world is now in the pockets of corporatizing oligarchs, and we’re still buying these worn-out rationales for giving them everything they want. The truth is simpler. They have bought our governments. The business of government is business.
