Every time I have the privilege of witnessing each of my children engaged in an extraordinary endeavor for which their passion seems limitless--I cant help but reflect that once upon a time, they were tiny helpless babes in my arms. The circle of life is truly wondrous...for that babe youre cradling today will one day lead you...guide you...pray for you, and INSPIRE you to ASPIRE to greater heights. Ok, in todays case, Christina Gee Noakes encouraged me to SWEAT bullets on behalf of our favorite cause, The Make-A-Wish Foundation [MAW] Yes, Chrissy and her expert Zumba team Liz Roth, Katy Miyasaki Craner at Mountainside Fitness - Carefree led us in a grueling 90-minute Zumbathon. Each of us paid to participate, and all monies earned went directly to MAW to help in their quest to grant the wish of every child diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition--which in the US a diagnosis occurs on average every 38 minutes! Im a former member of the Board of the Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area and witnessed first hand the tremendous impact a wish experience can have on a Wish Kids life and his/her family. This one belief guides Make-A-Wish. It continually inspires us all who are engaged in this worthwhile effort to do all we can to make their wishes come true. It can be a game changer. You dont need to be a Mom or Dad to understand. You just need to remember what it was like to be a kid...a sick kid.
