Every time I hear of some injustice or some one starving it really gets to me bc it shouldnt be that way. Humans are so self destructive and very selfish and self absorbed. Too busy with finding the perfect selfie or having the best and most expensive clothing when there are more important things happening around us for which we can positively impact if we cared to acknowledge. Most dont even realize what is happening underneath their nose. When I hear of people abusing or hurting children, as someone with a masters in the psychology field, while I understand that there is something missing in his persons brain and heart in order to not feel compassion and have that innate need to love and protect...as a mother and human being I cannot comprehend how you can continue to hurt anyone and not think for a second that perhaps you shouldnt. See the pain you are inflicting and continue to inflict that pain without any regard. I have been at the receiving end and let me tell you it took years to repair myself and I was lucky to have come out as out as together as I am and to not continue that vicious cycle. As a parent, I could never, ever hurt my daughter and when I raise my voice or am aggravated I have yet to identify with my abuser. I am so saddened and disappointed with the direction this world is taking. Conversations are made via phones, predominantly text messages and FB or Instagram and self gratification has taken a front seat with very little brain being challenged. Einstein once said I fear the day technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots... Sadly he was right and it seems that instead if advocating, making this world a better place or protecting those that cannot protect themselves, we either look the other way or grab our phones not to call for help or report but to document the injustice. It is a sad world and I hope that I didnt make a mistake in bringing my children into a society that is going backwards.
