Every time I think of this Saturday’s English Defence League - TopicsExpress

Every time I think of this Saturday’s English Defence League march through Tower Hamlets I think of the historic battle of Cable Street in 1936 where 250,000 people took to the streets to show the British Union of Fascists they weren’t welcome in the borough. This is the EDL’s third attempt to march through the area to stir up hatred, and we must not let them. If you are against the fascist ideology presented by the EDL and its leaders, please come to the counter demonstration assembling at Altab Ali Park (Algate East tube station) at 11am. Please don’t think you need to be from the area to join; I’m not from around there but I’ll be there to make my voice heard. If you visit the EDL Facebook page you will see they plan to bring coaches filled with fascists to London for the march. We must not let them succeed. (Let me know if you’re coming so we can meet up)
