Every time you decide to pick up a pair of Jordans, a Sean John - TopicsExpress

Every time you decide to pick up a pair of Jordans, a Sean John outfit, a Beyonce record or Jay z album, go to a Denzel Washington or Tyler Perry movie remember all the money you give these people and how much they invest in your community. Remember when civil unrest began they sat in the comforts of their homes and talked about what should be done, with the means and influence to do it. The Jewish communities invest in their neighborhoods rich or poor their money circulates their community 20 days before it leaves. The Asian communities invest in their neighborhoods rich or poor and their money circulates 30 days before it leaves. Caucasian communities 17 days before it leaves. African-American community....our money circulates approximately 6 hours. We have 1 Trillion dollars in spending power and we give it away. Not only do we give it to everyone outside our community we give it to our own people that could give a rats ars about what they left behind. The next time you decide to spend your money remember why theres civil unrest. Remember why it takes senseless violence to stand together as a community. We ourselves deem each other unworthy and we ourselves break each other down. I read a few comments on a post where others were throwing shade about people calling out celebrities about this civil unrest and not wanting to be around their own people. Ive done both and my views about neither have been changed. My own people dont know how to behave when other members of their community try to prosper. Theres jealousy and destruction, with that attitude we keep each other in a place where officers walk into our community and shoot our kids for an alleged mistake that could possibly have changed him for the better if handled correctly. What I want and what I do for the betterment of myself and community are two different things. We are party to this civil unrest. We did this; for example by not making our boys pull up their pants, by not stopping our girls from twerking, By not keeping them engaged in books and positive practices instead of video games and reality tv. By not holding them accountable by not expecting them and making them to do better. This is our burden to bear as a community. We did this as a community because too many of us are afraid to share a few positive words with the kid on the corner, or the girl thats selling her soul for love. The results are partly from our own mental enslavement and furthered by them knowing we arent teaching our kids better. I speak My mind whether its popular or not. I cant say these individuals were referring to me personally and those that know me know I dont care but I never ever had a problem speaking my mind whether one thinks Im right or wrong or If its popular or not. Ive never had a problem talking brothers off the corner and sisters into loving self. I never had a problem uplifting my own. Take this as a nice way of saying......
