Every year, all the countries that participate in Core Values Awards send their winners on to compete in the IAP2 International Core Values Awards. This year, the IAP2 International Core Values Award for Research went to IAP2 USA Core Values Award Winner, St. Vrain Valley Schools (Longwood, CO, USA)! This is a tremendous honor as the research impressed not only our strict USA judges, but a diverse international review panel as well. CONGRATULATIONS!!! St. Vrain Valley Schools was recognized for their entry entitled, “Organizational Training and Relationship-Building for Increasing P2 Capacity in Public Schools”. “Leadership St. Vrain empowers public school parents to be effective advocates for their children, schools and communities. Now, in its sixth year, the program instills know-how (inside information on district operations, curriculum development, finance and governance) and know-who (relationship building with district leaders, school board members and state elected officials) through the lens of P2 principles. A mixed method research study validated the approach, which has now been adopted by other U.S. school districts,” notes Mr. John Poynton, Executive Director of Organizational Development and Communications for St. Vrain Valley Schools.
