Every year at Christmas there are so many people that debate whether or not we should celebrate Christmas. This status is not for a DEBATE ....First, I want to say that I respect whatever your belief is on this subject. BUT as for me, I love this time of year, I celebrate the birth of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. On this day the whole world stands still in recognition of His birth. Yes, we as Christians should celebrate His birth every day but I think that taking this day to honor Him is wonderful! God set in order feasts and festivals for the Jewish people. He commanded them to observe these feasts and He had them to do certain things to celebrate miraculous events that happened. One is the festival of lights(Hanukkah) and during this festival they light a candle for each night that the oil didnt run out of the lamps during an important battle which coincides with Christmas. Another one is the feast of Ingathering where they are commanded to celebrate the Harvest which is near Thanksgiving. The feast of the Passover is around Easter and it amazes me how these feasts coincide with our celebrations. If you go and research it each one has a significance. If God commanded them to celebrate these miracles then surely he doesnt mind us celebrating the GREATEST MIRACLE OF ALL TIMES... If I read this following scripture right ... The Bible gives us permission to esteem one day above another OR NOT to esteem one day above another. So if you dont believe in celebrating Christmas this scripture gives you that right but since God himself ordained feasts and celebrations then it also gives the right to celebrate it to those that chose to do so. I am regarding this day unto the Lord! I love all of you and pray that you understand this post and that I am wanting to UNITE and not DIVIDE the body of Christ! Romans 14:5, 6 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. 6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.
