Every year at this time we have a jazz festival with activity throughout Eureka. The jumpstart each year is A Taste of Main Street and, no, you do not have to eat parts of curbing. Instead, you get a booklet of tickets to visit and sample pieces from 26 restaurants. The weather was good to us this year, just a slight sprinkling of rain as we walked from restaurant to restaurant sampling their wares. We got out book of 26 tickets and had to quit after using ten of them. Not bad, though for $25. Among the samples: 1. BBQ pulled pork, sticky love coconut chicken, homemade potato soup, 2. mini wild salmon cakes with aioli, lemon spinach quinoa, baquette with artichoke spread, chocolate ganache brownies, 3. French cut French fries & dipping sauce, 4. Selection of paninis, smoothies and coffee drinks, 5. Variety of most popular New York style pizzas, 6. Hard cider & specialty craft beer, 7. Pakoras (Indian cuisine), 8. Beer, chips & salsa, 9. Coffee, gluten free desserts, Humboldt mud pie, 10. Savory bite (had it and do not remember what it was, 11. Marinated grilled chicken on a black bean & corn slaw, 12. Gourmet hot dogs, specialty wraps and potato salad, 13. BBQ pork sliders, 14. Organic ice cream, gelato and sorbet, 15. Chocolate treats, 16. BBQ beef, BBQ tofu, cheese cubes and sunset sauce, 17. Fresh roasted coffee, fresh fudge, dipped cherry and turtle bites, 18. Sushi, 19. Cucumber rounds with cypress grove cheese & Humboldt hot sauce, 20. Beer infused sweet treats, 21. Chocolate raspberry tart, coconut macaroon, 22. Bagels, spreads & mini cookies, 23. Curry & rice, 24. Chicken tostaditas, 25. Deep fried prawns & cocktail sauce, 26. Beer battered fish and chips, deep fried oreos.
