Every year my uncle gets family and friends delicious fruit from Harry and Davids. If youve not heard of them or had the pleasure, Harry and Davids has some of the worlds finest fruits - pears, Honey Bell oranges... never have I had better. So for breakfast I just grabbed one of these pears, which incidentally may be the best pear Ive ever had in my life, and sat down on the bed to enjoy it. Now, the dogs have all been raised eating fresh produce, but I have noticed as they get older they sort of outgrow the taste for it. Well not so for these pears. The boys were first to come see what I was eating (of course), so I gave them each a bite. The juice ran everywhere, and the look on their sweet little Siberian faces was PRICELESS. Their little bright eyes nearly crossed as they looked down their noses at the fruit they were licking, and they oh-so carefully picked their slices up and took them to the pile of dog beds on the bedroom floor to enjoy. The girls, interested in what the boys have, go stare at them, and do their traditional standing on them thing, play bows, etc - but they boys were by far too interested in the pear. So, I called the girls to me on the bed, and they bounced up, playful and full of themselves this fine Christmas morning, and I show them the pear. A few sniffs later and a lick or two, off they go with their slices to join the boys who were very gently licking theirs. Even Angel is down there licking it! So, I do suppose my dogs are spoiled just a tad, having Harry and Davids pears for a Christmas pre-gift treat. I dont think theyve ever had pears now that i think of it, and these are beyond Heavenly - perfect texture, juice everywhere, and sweet just as they should be. So I will of course let them have more if they want it.... It is Christmas after all
