Every year the celebration of Passover becomes more and more dangerous, as hatred of the Holy One of Israel reaches a fever pitch in the world. Pause in prayer this day to remember those who have borne the brunt of hate on behalf of us. The terror attack most of us heard about in Kansas City Sunday was not the only act of hatred aimed against the Holy One of Israel associated with Passover this year. unpublicized by the media, for obvious reasons, is the fact that last night in Israel a 40-year-old Israeli man was shot dead and his pregnant wife and son were injured by terrorists while they were driving down the road to attend a Seder in the ancient city of Hebron. The terrorists who committed this atrocious act are believed to have come from the nearby Arab Muslim village of Idhna. We must not sink to the level of those who hate. We must carry on, and bring the life and love of the Kingdom of Heaven to as much of the earth - and as many real men, women, and children - as we can. Thank Heaven the lives of this pregnant Jewish wife and precious Jewish child were miraculously preserved by the Holy One. May the Holy One comfort all who have been bereaved by this act of senseless hatred as only He can do, and may His own Hand heal the wounds of the widow and son, and give them a refuah shelemah. May the unborn child in the widows womb live and go on to bring much hope, joy, and shalom to the land. Meanwhile, may the Great Judge in Heaven also have mercy upon the tortured souls of the perpetrators, who are so horribly deceived and so regularly tormented by their own anger and their cultures bloodlust that they know not what they do.
