Every year we adopt a family at work and the family we adopted has a teenage son who requested Xbox games and one of my co-workers said why would an underprivileged child have an Xbox I had to maintain my composure and kindly said....you do not know the familys situation-the mother could have lost her job, he might of gotten the Xbox as gift from a family member years ago or a hand me down from someone. Wow we as a people have lost our compassion. I found myself recalling my own childhood when we didnt have cable and how I wanted to be up on the latest TV Shows like Beavis and Butthead. I wanted cable so I could fit in....well maybe this kid wants the games because he wants to be just like every other teenage boy, even if its only by playing the latest video games. **off my soapbox** I am too blessed to not pay it forward. Many paid it forward for me to be where I am today. Remember those in need not just during the holiday but all year.
