Everybody loves to speak about humbleness but it can knock the wind out of you when you start understanding what it is all about. No more what about me?, no more self pity, no more you dont speak to ME that way!, all of that needs to die down and disappear altogether. Easier said than done, but once you manage it for real and understand how small I am and that everybody has pain and issues and hardship and I am not the only martyr in the world, a new appreciation of reality kicks in. We start understanding that the greatest problem in this world is that people do not KNOW the Lord. They do not understand who He is and where we all fit into the picture. Only the Lord can heal any persons wounds and only He understands all aspects of anybodys life. Yes He is LOVE but love is not only soft and comforting, it is also fair and honest with no partiality, no one is more or less important than another and nobodys crimes against others will be overlooked unless it is repented of and turned away from. The reason the Lord tells us to go ask forgiveness from the ones we have sinned against is so that the condemnation can be removed. Terms and Conditions - it is as old as life itself and with good reason. When we humble ourselves before the Lord, it only follows that we will start walking in humbleness in front of others. As the Love of the Lord starts spreading into our being, we find that we no longer have the overwhelming necessity to be noticed and regarded and praised and encouraged all the way. Knowing who He is and experiencing His closeness helps us understand that looking at other people for recognition all the time is rather foolish. When He tells you that He is happy with you and smiles at you, the need for a pat on the back from your neighbor becomes a bit foolish. Just draw close to the Lord and all else will come into perspective.
