Everyday in Australia there are tens of thousands of women being imprisoned, behind invisible bars. Trapped inside walls created in the mind, designed by the words and actions of the partners they love. Bystanders and those unaffected will more often than not be heard asking Why dont they just leave? ... or worse yet.... Its her own fault for staying. The reality is that leaving an abusive relationship is often a herculean task that endangers the woman and calls for resources that arent readily available. Until society evolves and stepping out of an abusive relationship becomes a safe and simple process, women will face hell everyday, while the ignorant look on with misplaced blame. The clear and present need for evolutionary/revolutionary societal and individual change could not be more obvious.
