Everyone, The crew has been working hard at sea. King Neptune - TopicsExpress

Everyone, The crew has been working hard at sea. King Neptune has been kind to us with a great sea state which has enabled the crew to accomplish a great deal of training and afforded a safe ride to respond to numerous equipment casualties on board. The Blood Moon and Lunar Eclipse was quite the spectacle at sea occurring on the Navigators Watch (3:30am to 7:30am) yesterday morning. SK2 Brito stayed up the whole evening to watch the heavens and continues to tell everyone on board that it was amazing (her extended pronunciation goes something like this: uhhhhhhh-may-zing!!! ... followed by her patented smile that goes from ear-to-ear). The Engineers have had their hands full the past couple of days. Casualties to our air conditioning system, sewage system, and small boat davit system have kept them busy and tech pubs have been sprawled out everywhere. If that was not enough, we had some water unexpectantly fill up the bottom part of one of our spaces yesterday. All-in-all though, the Engineers resolve and will have not been broken. The cooks continue to serve awesome meals four times per day ... so good that folks have been staying up for the 11pm offering in an effort to not miss out on the late night meal. FS3 Meier has already integrated quickly into the underway routine as a new cook fresh out of school and we are fortunate to have Chief Johnson with us this patrol on loan to us from Sector Houston. Two of our newest shipmates have just qualified as Helmsmen and Lookouts - so congrats are in order for Seamen Bosserman and Kelley. They have great attitudes and even better work ethics. Service Wide Exam Trivia Night is fast approaching also as folks continue to study hard on the Mess Deck and in the lounge areas for their upcoming exams. So, lots of great things happening on board! Have a great day, -Adam Morrison
