Everyone around me is gearing up for Chinese New Year festivities but for many years in our household it is a quiet affair. With no relatives in Singapore to visit , we take the opportunity to go parks, watch a movie and sleep. We hardly ever go visiting or indulge in CNY goodies. Now that i married a foreigner that never really celebrates CNY, tonight will just be a simple dinner. I am at least glad he made it back in time. For my dad, he was the only one that gets a new shirt every year. Not that it really matters to him. He lets me dictate what he wear anyways. He is happy that way. I think in a feeble attempt to ramp up the festivities, I shall at least add some abalone in my soup tonight. But trust me, that $60 a can abalone would be lost on the two male in the house. They cannot differentiate abalone from mushrooms...Haiz.
